WENY News, the ABC and CBS affiliate in Horseheads, NY has an opening for a morning producer / anchor. The right candidate should have a strong on-air presence, the ability to work with limited supervision, solid news judgment and writing skills, and the ability to handle pressure and last-minute changes. You'll be working in collaboration with another producer / anchor to create a forward-looking, energetic, two-hour morning newscast.
We are looking for the right person to join our award-winning team and continue to grow our newscasts. As a member of our news team, you'll gain experience in many aspects of news coverage, from breaking news to stories focused on important community matters. You'll also receive feedback and coaching focused on professional development from long-time industry veterans and leaders in news media.
The right candidate will have a great attitude for mornings, strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and a passion for local journalism. Our morning team also does several special reporting projects throughout the year, getting them out into the community.
WENY also prides itself on its social media presence, and incorporating that into shows to grow audiences on both TV and digital platforms.
Salary range : $34,000 - $37,000.
