Organizational Overview
The Global Materials Planning Team at Lilly is responsible for effectively managing critical and common raw materials across multiple manufacturing sites around the world from an aggregated supply chain perspective. This will ensure a standard approach and focused vendor partnership with one Lilly voice. The scope of the team is to establish and execute centralized methodologies around key categories to enable effective coordination, risk mitigation and decision making. This team will also be integrated into the supplier management and risk processes, to include ownership of an operational rhythm, supplier performance and contract management.
Responsibilities:
The Manager - Global Materials Capacity Planner is responsible for managing the global demand assessment, material allocation, scenario analysis, and coordination with suppliers to forecast material requirements and ensure timely delivery of materials. This role is crucial in identifying potential bottlenecks, developing contingency plans, and optimizing inventory and supply chain management for the parenteral network. The position also involves building strong relationships with suppliers, tracking performance metrics, and facilitating joint planning meetings for global network materials.
Detailed Job Responsibilities:
- Assess global demand by analyzing supplier capacity and patient demand to forecast material requirements.
- Establish the resource allocation and scenario analysis processes to determine the impact on material supply strategy.
- Collaborate with global suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Identify potential bottlenecks and implement contingency plans for risk management.
- Provide input for the development of procedures and processes in line with internal manufacturing agreed practices.
- Determine and monitor global/network stock levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts for critical materials.
- Coordinate supply chain planning/demand resources to anticipate inventory variations based on demand, consumption, and warehousing constraints.
- Evaluate the supply chain for efficiency improvements and integrate advanced software, technologies, or methodologies to streamline operations.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and provide leadership for resolving material supply issues.
- Execute Global Procurement strategic purchase initiatives and build strong relationships with suppliers to enhance supply chain resilience.
- Facilitate joint planning meetings, coordinate data collection, oversee purchase order submission and serve as the point of contact for suppliers on material supply-related issues for specific suppliers in the PDN network.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Management, or similar field
- 5 years of supply chain planning/inventory management experience.
- Experience with Advanced Planning Systems (APS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Understanding of and experience with execution of S&OP processes for multiple sites/nodes.
- Experience/familiarity with business intelligence applications (e.g. Power BI).

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$57,750 - $129,800Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
