What You'll Do:
Get ready to take the reins of our financial operations! As a key player in our company, you'll be responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships, and partner compliance. Your role will be pivotal in driving our financial success!
Your Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Be a key strategic leader and member of the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the President.
- Accounting & Compliance: Oversee all accounting cycle testing, auditing, and compliance functions.
- Financial Reporting: Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports on both STAT and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including consolidating entities and coordinating annual audits.
- Tax & Statutory Reporting: Prepare and file premium tax returns and all statutory reporting, and work with the internal tax department on quarterly and annual federal income tax filings.
- Reinsurance & Budgeting: Manage reinsurance accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Investment Guidelines: Create, support, and maintain investment guidelines for the organization.
- Regulatory & Board Reporting: Lead the management of regulatory, rating agency, and Board of Directors reporting and communication functions.
- Collaboration: Confer with board members, organization officials, and staff members to discuss issues, coordinate activities, and resolve problems.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree: A B.A./B.S. from a four-year college or university.
- Experience: Minimum ten years of industry-related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant or Master’s degree or MBA preferred. IPO experience is a plus!
Location:
While remote work is an option, we prefer candidates to be located in the Sarasota or Tampa Bay area.
