Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, policies and procedures, the Speech Language Pathologist evaluates, plans, implements, administers speech therapy modalities and procedures per State of OhioLaws and Rules Regulating the Practice of Speech Language Pathology & AudiologyChapter4753 of the Ohio Revised Code, Chapters 4753.01 to 4753.12 of the OhioAdministrative Code. The Speech-Language Pathologist provides non-medical diagnostic and therapeutic services to inpatients and outpatients of all ages with Speech-language, Voice and/or swallowing/feeding problems. The Speech Language Pathologist will provide leadership for the implementation of specialty programs and demonstrate professional conductthat is consistent with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Code of Ethics and the Code of EthicsChapter 4753-9 of the Ohio Revised Code.The Speech Language Pathologist will be required to assist in other areas as assigned that may include Acute Care, Rehabilitation Unit, Transitional Care Unit, Pediatrics, LMHS Outpatient, and the Wellness Center.
Education: A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited school is required.
Licensure/Certification: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure with the Speech Language Pathology & Audiology Board of Ohio in accordance with The State of Ohio Laws and Rules Regulating the Practice of Speech Language Pathology Chapter 4753 of the Ohio Revised Code; must hold active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). A strong Clinical Fellow (CF) will be considered and must hold or be eligible for conditional licensure and obtain CCC-SLP within 18 months of employment, or within 4 years of employment if enrolled in a Doctoral Program State of Ohio Educational License is recommended but not required.
Experience: No previous experience required however, 1-2 year’s clinical experience recommended
Skills: Strong communication and listening skills, demonstrated initiative, and the ability to multi-task are required. Must have documented overall general knowledge of PT/OT/ST as a profession, demonstrated leadership and timeliness are also required.
