What are the responsibilities and job description for the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Technician position at Limelight Link?
Limelight Link, Atlanta's premier Non-Emergency Medical Transportation, is looking for NEMT Technicians to join the team!
Located in Chamblee, GA, we provide easy access to I-285 and I-85 within minutes, allowing us to easily serve customers in surrounding counties.
Qualifications
- Mature, compassionate, caring, dependable, and responsible
- US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
- At least 21 years old
- Prior wheelchair and/or ambulance stretcher experience preferred, but not required.
- High School, GED, or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- Speak fluent English. Multilingual preferred, but not required.
- Current, valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia, or by a bordering state of residence, in good standing and not suspended or revoked in the last 5 years
- Prior experience driving a RAM ProMaster 2500 or equivalent preferred
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the last 7 years
- No prior convictions for a sexual crime or crime of violence.
- No felonies on record
- Pass 10-panel drug screening prior to hiring, on an annual basis, and as needed
- No history of DUIs
- Be flexible and willing to work long hours on the road
- Shifts may start as early as 6am, and may end as late as 7pm
- Transfer, lift, load, transport, and unload individuals of varying weights and heights, with the help of an additional person. Individuals may weigh more than 250lbs in some cases.
Training
Technicians must successfully complete the following training components prior to providing transportation services
- NEMT orientation program
- Passenger assistance, safety, and sensitivity training
- Defensive driver training
- Spill kit use and biohazard removal
- First aid training
- Wheelchair securement and wheelchair lift operation
- Stretcher use, operation, and securement
Responsibilities
- Pick up and drop off disabled/handicapped, senior citizens, and special needs individuals to and from their desired locations
- Transfer and secure stretcher on and off stretcher, including bariatric patients
- Load, secure, and unload stretcher and wheelchair patients on and off the van
- Sanitize van, stretcher, and other utilized equipment after every drop-off
- Obey all posted speed limits and road signs
- Provide basic first aid to customers, if and when required
- Return van to office parking lot at the end of every shift
