Summary: Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of assigned areas, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for employees, residents, and/or visitors. This role involves a variety of cleaning tasks, minor maintenance duties, and adherence to established safety and sanitation protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Cleaning and Sanitation:

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and showers.
• Empty and clean trash and recycling receptacles.
• Dust, polish, and wipe down furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
• Replenish restroom supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper).
• Clean and sanitize common areas, hallways, and offices.
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces to prevent the spread of germs.

Maintenance:

• Perform minor repairs, such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and fixing minor leaks.
• Report major maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure it is in proper working order.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down for events or meetings.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed.
• Assist with grounds keeping such as sweeping sidewalks, or light snow removal.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and appropriately.
• Properly store and dispose of hazardous materials.
• Report any safety hazards or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Maintain a clean and organized storage area for cleaning supplies.

Other Duties:

• Respond to cleaning requests and emergencies in a timely manner.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be functional in Microsoft Outlook and other Microsoft Suite applications.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

• Positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate and present with self-confidence.
• Must have the ability to follow instructions and work independently, strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
• The ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively.
• Basic maintenance skills are a plus. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects. Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods, work in various environmental conditions, the ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually fairly loud.

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
