What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Peer Support position at Limen Recovery + Wellness?

Summary: Supports residents to identify and cope with their needs for recovery, facilitate activities as designed by CADC.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide individual peer support services to validate clients’ experiences while engaging in residential treatment.
- Conduct groups for clients to actively participate in their own recovery.
- Responsible for discharging residents following stated guidelines.
- Continually monitors client progress and with the treatment team review and update the treatment plan as needed.
- Promote personal growth and development with mental health and substance abuse issues.
- Assist, teach, and support clients with activities of daily living, vocational skills, accessing housing, and maintaining financial support.
- Provide side-by-side support, coaching and encouragement to help clients socialize and engage in activities.
- Monitor clients who may decline active services who represent a potential danger to self or others to ensure referral for emergency psychiatric or other crisis intervention services as needed.
- Participate in weekly supervision.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled team meetings.
- Participate actively in on-going professional growth and development.
- Maintain appropriate professional behavior at all times.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, combination of education and two years of experience. Associate’s degree or equivalent – preferred.
Certificates and Licenses:
Peer Support Certification - Certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
- 1-3 years of experience working with individuals impacted by substance use disorder and mental health.
- Personal lived experience with substance abuse or mental health.
- Strong ability to motivate individuals.
- Positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate and present with self-confidence.
- Self-starter and goal driven.
- Valid drivers license.
- Exhibit organization and follow through on tasks and goals.
