Limestone University invites applications for Student Success Coach / Advisor .

The Student Success Coach / Advisor will be an experienced professional with excellent critical thinking and communication skills.

This position reports to the Director of Online Advising and Success Coaching. It works collaboratively with Enrollment Counselors, the Registrar's Office, the Student Accounts Office, Financial Aid, and other university offices.

This position is responsible for the overall advising and retention process of new and continuing students in the Online and Graduate Programs.

The position serves as a liaison between the student, the university, and the services offered at the university. This position is full-time and is based on the main campus in Gaffney, SC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Student Service : Provide all accepted students with a personalized advising session using a degree audit tool that facilitates monitoring students’ academic progress toward degree completion.
  • Collaborate with Enrollment Counselors to maintain a friendly, service-oriented relationship with prospective students through effective phone, email, video conference, and face-to-face communication.
  • Maintain an advising load and work directly with accepted students in the assigned population to accomplish educational goals.
  • Document all student interactions and engage in reliable data entry and information management to ensure data integrity for reporting, analysis, marketing, recruiting, and budget projections.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the student and the university and provide excellent customer service, enhancing the student experience.
  • Conduct telephone interviews and email and text correspondence to identify student prospects to determine their educational needs, concerns, and interests.
  • Student Retention : Lead retention and graduation rate efforts through consistent communication with students and reaching out to students to assist them with enrollment concerns.

Empowering students to develop and accomplish their personal, academic, and career goals.Utilize critical thinking, professional expertise, and problem-solving skills to address and resolve student issues and concerns and to ensure a positive student experience.

Collaborate and coordinate with colleagues in a team approach to ensure student success and effective enrollment management.

Assist students with setting goals, identifying, planning for, overcoming potential obstacles, and defining steps in education and career planning.

Monitor student progress toward goals; offer advisement as needed; support university stakeholders' efforts to infuse instruction with persistence and success strategies.

Identify and provide support services to students who are deemed at-risk to ensure they are successful.Work closely with students who are on Academic Probation / Suspension to ensure they are improving their academic standing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited College or University is required. Consideration will be given to candidates actively pursuing their Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and in the use of or ability to quickly learn other software platforms as needed.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including confident, professional, and customer-friendly interpersonal skills;

the ability to function in a team environment; a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

  • Ability to work in a data- and goal-driven environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to following up with clients in a timely fashion.
  • Energetic, service-oriented, motivated, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Willing to work on a shift schedule that accommodates clients' schedules evening work when students are home) and on some weekends.

The standard schedule will be Monday through Thursday, 8 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PM, and Friday, 8 : 00 AM 1 : 30 PM.One late night (10 : 00 AM 7 : 00 PM) is required each week.

One Saturday (8 : 00 AM 12 : 00 PM) is required per month.
