About the role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Engineering to join our team on Link. In this pivotal role, you will drive the strategic vision and execution of our engineering initiatives, overseeing the development of cutting-edge web applications and backend systems that power our platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to shape the technical roadmap, foster a culture of innovation, and mentor a high-performing engineering team. Your leadership will be instrumental in advancing our mission and delivering exceptional products to our users.

What you'll do

Technical Leadership

Define and implement the engineering vision and roadmap in alignment with Link's overall business objectives.
Oversee all aspects of software development, including frontend and backend engineering, ensuring best practices are followed.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality software through robust testing, code reviews, and adherence to industry standards.
Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to keep our systems at the forefront of industry standards.

Team Management and Development

Lead, mentor, and scale a diverse engineering team, fostering professional growth and ensuring high engagement and productivity.

Recruit and develop top engineering talent to build a high-performing team.

Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the engineering department.

Strategic Planning and Execution

Manage budgeting, resource allocation, and project prioritization to meet strategic goals.

Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on our products and services.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with product management, design, and other departments to deliver seamless and user-centric solutions.

Communicate technical concepts and project statuses effectively to stakeholders, including executive leadership and non-technical teams.

Advocate for user-centered design principles throughout the development process.

Security and Compliance

Implement and maintain security protocols and compliance standards, particularly in identity and access management.

Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and reliable, with a focus on data protection and access controls.

Quality Assurance and Innovation

Advocate for and maintain high standards of code quality and system reliability through comprehensive testing and continuous integration practices.

Drive innovation within the team by encouraging the exploration of new technologies and approaches.

Qualifications

Educational Background : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience : 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.

Technical Expertise :

Deep understanding of scalable architecture, microservices, and serverless computing.

Experience with identity and access management and securing large-scale systems.

Proven ability to architect, build, and maintain high-performance systems.

Leadership Skills : Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire engineering teams, with experience in recruiting and developing top talent.

Strategic Thinking : Strong business acumen with the ability to align technical strategies with broader company goals.

Problem-Solving : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovative and efficient solutions.

Communication Skills : Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of articulating complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
