CLASS TITLE: CWTP STUDENT EMPLOYMENT COORDINATOR
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education

NUMBER OF DAYS: 185 days
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under direction, assist students with disabilities gain skills and obtain resources to be career ready through services provided. Provide a variety of opportunities and experiences in preparation for competitive integrated employment.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Works with IDEA eligible students, family members, classroom teachers, and others to discover potential career interests and various job possibilities available in the community.
- Coordinates student evaluations to discover student competencies, interests, relevant vocations (including kinds of work previously unconsidered) as well as learning about the impact of students’ disabilities and related support needs.
- Completes timely written vocational evaluation reports and assists with development of students’ IPEs (Individualized Plan for Employment – through Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR).
- Works with employers and students to develop personalized jobs.
- Provides consultations for business personnel related to specific instruction and support needs of individual students __ promoting instruction by those who typically provide training, and supplementing employer training as needed.
- Provides follow-up services to promote job advancements and continuing success of students.
- Maintains necessary records for the local school system and the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. Keeps current and complete information regarding each student in student notebook/file and the student’s due process folder.
- Completes and submits year-end program data report promptly.
- Works in concert with students and their parents/guardians, classroom teachers, vocational liaisons or Special Education Coordinators, and DVR Counselors.
- Generates billable time consistent with the annual budget application.
- Provides transportation according to district's policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions.
- Persons performing service in this position classification will exert 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
At a minimum, the position requires a high school diploma or GED. Education, business, or a training background is preferred. CDL preferred.
Salary : $18 - $23
