The Lincoln County District Attorney's Office is looking to add a Crime Victim Assistant to their team to help members of our community when they need it most. The person in this role will provide services and advocacy to victims of crime. Jenna Wallace, Lincoln County District Attorney
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provide direct services to victims and witnesses of crime, with emphasis on Domestic Violence: Initiate contact with victims of crime in the most expedient manner possible with the goal being within two (2) hours of a police report entering the District Attorney’s office. Prepare and efile restitution memos with the Circuit Court.Follow up with law enforcement agencies for additional information, as necessary.Provide supportive active listening, information, referrals, and safety planning.Provide support in trial preparation and during Grand Jury process for victims and witnesses, including courtroom advocacy and accompaniment.Provide case status updates to victims of crime.Make transportation, lodging, and food arrangements for victims and witnesses of crime pertinent to Grand Jury or court hearings. Provide assistance in filling out compensation claims and restraining orders.Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, such as SART, DART, Elder Abuse, Domestic Violence Council, etc.Assist Victim Assistance Program Supervisor.
