Job Summary
Security Guards are responsible for protecting people and property by patrolling assigned areas, monitoring surveillance systems, controlling access, and responding to emergencies. They play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and assets.
Principal Accountabilities

• Provides and/or implements security and security protocols for all assigned facilities.
• Takes proactive steps to provide a safe and secure working environment for staff and visitors.
• Provides specialized security for and monitors access to limited and restricted access areas such as inventory areas, network equipment areas, employee files, and confidential records.
• Conducts regular walk-throughs and security inspections for assigned facilities.
• Monitors surveillance cameras, inspects property, and monitors crowds
• Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency
• After business hours, checks doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.
• Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property.
• Reasonably detains persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives
• Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises
• Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, disturbances, and other emergencies, including fire, medical, and security incidents
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting with employees and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
• Document all incidents, observations, and activities in detailed reports.
• Assist public with security protocol when entering through metal detectors and using x-ray equipment.
• Adhere to position dress code and maintain a professional and alert presence
• Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

Supervisory Responsibilities
• There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position.
Experience & Education
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Security guard training certification preferred
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military preferred
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
• Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly, regardless of weather
• Physically able to capture and detail individuals if necessary
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and monitoring surveillance equipment
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
• May require working irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (as needed)
