Position Title: Early Childhood Coordinator: Preschool
Location: Department of Early Childhood
Position Details:
The Early Childhood Coordinator, under the direction of the Director of Early Childhood, is a member of early childhood leadership team. The Early Childhood Coordinator provides leadership and support for programs in the Department of Early Childhood.
- Must qualify for, or hold, a valid Nebraska Administrative certificate with an early childhood teaching endorsement and a special education/early childhood special education teaching endorsement
- Demonstrated successful administrative/leadership experience required along with a commitment to working in a culturally diverse learning environment and supporting the needs of young children, their families, and the staff in the department and building administrators
- Position to begin July 1, 2025
Previous leadership experience preferred. This position includes additional days (14 days with the coordinator stipend plus an additional 25 days) throughout the summer and during school breaks. The successful candidate provides leadership and supervision of the Preschool Program, serving three to five year olds, including early childhood special education services to children with disabilities.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Plan and facilitate professional learning
- Provide leadership to certificated and classified early childhood preschool staff
- Assist with the planning, implementation and supervision of summer preschool
- Share in the responsiblity for appraising selected department staff
The successful candidate demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills in addition to the initiative and drive to successfully apply leadership and organizational skills to supervise programs in the department. Must have knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices, NDE Rules 11, 51 and 52, IDEA, and related requirements. Please see the attached job description for more information.
