What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time literacy interventionist (full-year long-term sub) position at Lincoln School District?
The Lincoln Community School (LCS) is seeking candidates to serve as part-time literacy interventionist. This is a full-year long-term sub position beginning in August. We are seeking candidates who can commit to no less than .5 and no more than .8. There may be some flexibility with scheduled days/hours.
Essential qualifications:
Experience as a literacy interventionist in an elementary school setting
Licensed in Vermont as a K-6 elementary educator, special educator, reading/literacy specialist, or comparable teaching license
Expertise and experience in literacy instruction and assessment
Demonstrated ability to create a flexible, innovative, joyful learning environment
Be able to apply best practices for teaching and learning within the context of a Multi-Tiered System of Support and proficiency-based learning
Have an understanding of the developmental milestones of students at intermediate and middle grades.
Excellent classroom management that incorporates PBiS, Responsive Classroom, and a trauma-informed practice
Ability to collaborate with colleagues, students, families, and the community.
Preferred qualifications:
Three years of experience in a comparable position
The Lincoln Community School is a K-6 school of 76 students nestled along the New Haven River on the western slope of the Green Mountains in Vermont.
