Lincoln School, founded in 1884, is an independent K-12 Quaker girls’ school in Providence, Rhode Island. We are seeking applicants for a full-time Science Department faculty member for the 2025-26 school year. Applicants will have a strong science background. Teaching opportunities in this position may include but are not limited to: physical science, environmental science, marine biology and biology. The position includes two sections of Grade 8 Science and two sections of Upper School Science.
The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of teaching experience, a student-centered teaching approach, and the confidence and skills to meet the needs of a variety of learners. A commitment to a girls’ school environment, and the desire to inspire and engage young women in science are essential. The successful candidate will be excited to work collaboratively with other department members, be an active member of the Science Department team and school community and be flexible in response to student and school needs.
Applicants should have exemplary pedagogical skills, a passion for teaching and learning from young people, and a love for working with adolescents in all facets of their school experience. A bachelor's degree is required, and a master’s degree is preferred. In addition to teaching four (4) classes, responsibilities include serving as a middle school advisor, a club’s facilitator, and supporting students outside of the classroom.
