What are the responsibilities and job description for the Funeral Home Removal Transportation Driver position at Lind Brothers Mortuary?
Candidate would be responsible for performing and/or assisting with:
- Transportation from place of death to funeral home.
- Some evening or weekend funeral service
Candidate must be physically able to lift necessary weight to perform duties of transportations from not only hospitals and nursing homes, but also residences.
The position pays a flat rate per transport ($60 each) and hours are on call based. Once all positions are filled and training is complete, a schedule will be made with specific nights and weekends on and off duty. Also, if needed and candidate is open to it, there is a possibility of assisting on some funeral services for the right candidates.
Qualities of a good candidate include:
- Good demeanor for interacting with families and/or staff at the place of death
- Willingness to be called upon at any hour of the day or night (especially on weekends)
- Ability to respond and be at funeral home in a timely manner
- Good communication skills in person as well as by text and phone
- Reliability
- Communication skills
- This position is quite often the first impression people get of the funeral home and it is important that effort is placed in making that impression be one that can build trust with the grieving family.
Reliable transportation to get to and from work when needed is required for this position. You do use a company vehicle for the transports, however you need to be able to get yourself to and from the funeral home at all hours of the day.
