Summary: Part Time Afternoon Assistant Facilitators work as a member of a classroom team to maintain a safe and positive learning environment for preschool children 2-5 years of age. Persons interested in this position must be able to be flexible, reliable, positive, communicate effectively as part of a team, and take direction from the teacher and facilitator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop positive communication with building and classroom staff, students, and their families
- Model and promote respect and caring in relationships with children, parents, families, colleagues, and the school and district community
- Utilize positive, research-based strategies to guide student’s social behavior in a way that maintains an effective learning environment during the school day and in aftercare
- Engage in the support of implementation of the current lesson plan or any verbal or written plans for classrooms and individual students during the school day and also during aftercare hours to promote curiosity and a love of learning
- Participate in ongoing professional learning through the LECE school community offerings
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized and orderly learning environment and school
