Manager, Technical Services and Product Development

Location : Chicago, Houston, or Buffalo NY

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Manager, Technical Services and Product Development to join our team! The Manager, Technical Services and Product Development will lead the development and implementation of new products and technologies in the metal fabrication and welding markets. This role involves overseeing research projects, managing product development and testing, and driving the commercialization process to bring innovative solutions to market. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in R&D, product development, and market commercialization.

What you will be doing :

  • Lead and manage R&D projects focused on developing new products and technologies in the metal fabrication and welding sectors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and sales, to ensure successful product development and commercialization.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Develop and execute project plans, timelines, and budgets for R&D initiatives.
  • Oversee the design, testing, and validation of new products to ensure they meet industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Manage the commercialization process, including product launch strategies, marketing plans, and sales support.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry partners, suppliers, and research institutions.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of new products in the market, making adjustments as needed to achieve commercial success.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards throughout the product development and commercialization process.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in metal fabrication and welding technologies and incorporate them into R&D projects.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in R&D and product development in the metal fabrication and welding industry.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and fabrication techniques.
  • Experience in market research, product commercialization, and project management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in using R&D and project management tools and software.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze market data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Experience with product testing and validation processes.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property management and patent processes
