JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides technical and process expertise for the maintenance and operation of metal recycling equipment in the form of troubleshooting, field dispositions, engineering work requests, redlines, and revisions.
- Drafts and implements strategies to enhance the development of retrofits, direct replacements, upgrades, repairs, and non-OEM products.
- Enhances part numbering schemes, drawing standards, improve engineered drawings and drawing sets; and develops BOMs and BOM structures.
- Develops the framework and leads the effort for improving material data quality in SAP and Teamcenter for the Texas Shredder product line.
- Checks and documents/records any functional deviations of installed base machines installed at customer yards and equipment being manufactured at vendor facilities.
- Attends internal and external meetings to review the scope of engineering projects containing systems of varying engineering disciplines; analyzes and supports customer requirements; and communicates challenges and/or problems for execution.
- Provides comprehensive technical and hands-on services throughout the installation, checkout, start-up and commissioning phases in strict accordance with project specifications, contract design requirements, and quality and safety standards.
- Serves as one of the first points of contact for customers requiring technical support services, ensuring fast access to the latest information and expertise during critical situations, such as breakdowns.
- Provides technical support for sales and account management teams including supporting in-person sales meetings, understanding customer issues, and properly identifying solutions to fulfill customer needs.
- Supports Product Management by standardizing and harmonizing the Texas Shredder product portfolios.
- Supports the Supply Chain department with supplier validation, supplier development, manufacturing activities, and document control.
- Consults with direct manager for guidance, direction, and priorities.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as required.

- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
- Minimum ten (10) years' progressive experience in technical assistance/support.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in project management.
- Development, reading and understanding of engineered drawings.
- Reading and understanding electrical/hydraulic diagrams preferred.
- Mastery of CAD programs and engineering vault management.
- Experience in troubleshooting via remote connection.
- Oral and written English a must.
- Availability for domestic travel (up to 50% of the time).
- Availability to travel internationally.
- Valid driver's license class C.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
- Experience with IT tools, CRM (Salesforce) and ERP/integrated system (SAP).
- Professional client management and business literacy skills.

- Master’s in mechanical engineering or similar discipline
- Knowledge of Value Engineering
- Proficiency with IT tools, CRM (Salesforce) and ERP/integrated system (SAP)
- Knowledge of programming programmable logic controllers, including HMI (Siemens S7/TIA, AB-Rockwell)
- Knowledge of hydraulic standards, principles and application
- Experience with metal recycling equipment
- Experience with material handling equipment
- Oral and written Spanish
