Credit Representative

Job Summary:

The Credit Representative will manage the assigned portfolio to ensure the company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the timely collection & reconciliation of all open items on accounts within assigned portfolio
• Draft correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identify delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contact delinquent accountholders to request payment.
• Maintain aging of assigned portfolio within department requirements
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and all cross-function teams to resolve disputes & obtain payment.
• Identify problem accounts & situations and recommend a course of action to Credit Manager
• Create reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested.
• Assist Credit Manager with credit investigations/analysis on new & existing customers.
• Maintain and update customer files to ensure accurate information is on record.
• Collaborate with the Credit Manager to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic basis.
• Assist with special projects & miscellaneous duties as required.
• Maximize systems & technology to improve efficiency & achieve corporate goals.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite including Excel, Teams, and Sharepoint.
• Ability to work independently and follow up to reach desired conclusion.
• Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma. Associate, or bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
• Two years of credit, collection & accounting experience.
• Knowledge of credit information services; DNB, CreditSafe, NACM
