The Credit Representative will manage the assigned portfolio to ensure the company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for the timely collection & reconciliation of all open items on accounts within assigned portfolio
- Draft correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identify delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contact delinquent accountholders to request payment.
- Maintain aging of assigned portfolio within department requirements
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and all cross-function teams to resolve disputes & obtain payment.
- Identify problem accounts & situations and recommend a course of action to Credit Manager
- Create reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested.
- Assist Credit Manager with credit investigations/analysis on new & existing customers.
- Maintain and update customer files to ensure accurate information is on record.
- Collaborate with the Credit Manager to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic basis.
- Assist with special projects & miscellaneous duties as required.
- Maximize systems & technology to improve efficiency & achieve corporate goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite including Excel, Teams, and Sharepoint.
- Ability to work independently and follow up to reach desired conclusion.
- Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma. Associate, or bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
- Two years of credit, collection & accounting experience.
- Knowledge of credit information services; DNB, CreditSafe, NACM
