Position Summary :
UmbraGroup is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to serve as technical lead on strategic electromechanical actuator projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and interpersonal skills and will bring a passion for new product innovation.
This position is located in our Saginaw, Michigan facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Lead the development, analysis, testing and implementation of breakthrough linear and rotary actuation technologies
- Lead technical communication with customers, suppliers, and internal multidisciplinary engineering teams including mechanical, electrical, controls and software engineers.
- Understand and / or create system level requirements and flow down to sub-system level
- Use system level thinking to optimize overall product performance and project objectives
- Design, conduct, and analyze laboratory testing of new products
- Diagnose and correct anomalies and deficiencies in system behavior
- Utilize curiosity, creativity, and technical skills in the invention of new products, features, and functions to fuel company growth
- Collaborate with our sister companies to share and implement best practices
- Advance UmbraGroup’s use of analytical tools and testing methods
- Mentor and train colleagues

Work Environment :
The physical surroundings for this position are inside a factory and product manufacturing environment with work split between the offices and shop areas at all the UMBRAGROUP facilities and at customer and / or vendor locations worldwide. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise levels are moderate to loud.
