Reports To: Head Mens Basketball Coach & Athletic Director
Linfield University is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Mens Basketball Coach to join our Athletics Department. This part-time position plays a crucial role in supporting the Head Coach in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, training, scouting, and game preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in recruiting prospective student-athletes, including attending events and coordinating campus visits.
Establish and maintain a recruiting database.
Help organize travel arrangements, game schedules, and pre/post-game meals.
Assist in practice planning and on-court coaching.
Support scouting efforts, video analysis, and game strategy development.
Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes.
Participate in fundraising and community engagement activities.
Aid in venue maintenance and event preparation.
Lead or contribute to strength and conditioning programs (preferred).
Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree and at least three years of coaching experience at the college or high school level, or an equivalent combination of education and playing/coaching experience.
Valid drivers license with a good driving record.
CPR/First Aid certification (can be obtained on the job).
Preferred:
NCAA Division III coaching and recruiting experience.
Strength and Conditioning Certification (e.g., CSCS).
Physical & Work Requirements:
Frequent walking, standing, running, and demonstrating basketball techniques.
Ability to climb stairs and operate a motor vehicle.
Evening and weekend availability required.
