We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineering Intern that will be able to apply coursework concepts to real-world situations working alongside professional, experienced colleagues while also gaining valuable experience working for a global manufacturing and engineering company. You will become part of the Engineering Team and will interact in various engineering functions with our Engineers, Technicians, and Support Staff.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Become familiar with department standards and design practices.
  • Learn or increase existing skills in CAD and other software programs.
  • Recreate and refine existing components and systems to updated standards.
  • Component drawing detailing and file maintenance
  • Follow appropriate work order documentation.
  • Assist with the design of new components and features on standard products and custom equipment.
  • Contribute to active production project designs.
  • Assists with a variety of special projects as needed.
  • Ensure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment.
  • All other related duties as assigned.
  • Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job.

Qualifications:

  • Officially enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s Degree program in Mechanical, Software or Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • High School Diploma


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
  • Understanding of 2D drawings, component dimensioning, and machining tolerances
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems and multi-part assemblies
  • Excellent analytical skill and critical thinking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to identify new and unique ideas to make connections among previously unrelated notions; to participate in brainstorming sessions.
  • Ability to deal with concepts and complexity comfortably.
  • Ability to learn when facing new problems, analyzing successes and failures for improvement.
  • Ability to deal with challenges to find solutions.
  • Ability to practice active listening to learn new skills within the industry, company, product, or technical knowledge.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to speak verbally and read in English
  • Ability to walk.
  • Ability to see with corrective lenses.
  • Ability to hear.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically.
