This Experienced Help Desk Engineer with 5 Years of MSP experience will join our Remote Support Team in providing remote support for PCs, networking equipment, servers, firewalls, and desktop operating systems for a variety of small to medium-sized organizations as part of the Level 3 escalation team. The expectation is this position be one of the escalation engineers, mentor, and update documentation for the remote support team.
NOT a remote position. Family friendly in terms of scheduling. Certification training materials and approved tests will be covered by the company. Room to grow within the organization- Remote support manager, move to Project Team and vCIO.
Responsibilities and Duties
The candidate should not be opposed to performing a wide variety of IT support ranging from simple desktop support to complex server and network issues, as dictated by clients and available work. The candidate will work with the rest of the remote support team, technical account managers, and our project team.
Qualifications and Skills
Non-Technical:
Must live within 25 miles of Florham Park, NJ.
Experience working independently while collaborating with other Technical staff as necessary
Willing to train/mentor other team members
Willingness to take ownership of issues and take initiative. Will be the final escalation source before assigning Project Team to work the issue onsite or replace.
When not working on tickets, focus on reducing recurring tickets through automation, scripting, documentation, etc.
Ability follow internal procedures and document tickets and time daily in our PSA and ITGLUE
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills are a must.
Commit to continuous education, certification and self-improvement.
Technical
5 years of RECENT professional experience with a MSP/VAR or IT consulting firm HIGHLY PREFERRED.
Microsoft Windows (server and desktop), AD/DNS- Highly Proficient
SonicWall Firewall or similar Corporate Firewall-Proficient
Office 365 (administration\troubleshooting)- Highly Proficient
Azure- ( VMs. Virtual Desktops) Working knowledge or higher
Networking connectivity & related equipment- Highly Proficient
Virtualization (Microsoft Hyper-V and or VMWare)
Backup Technologies such as Datto or similar
Experience with ConnectWise Manage, Automate or similar products highly preferred
Meets all assigned technical training goals
