STUDENT SUCCESS INTEGRATION LIAISON - Strategic Partnerships for Student Success

Reports to: Strategic Partnerships for Student Success Director
FLSA Status: Exempt

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Student Success Integration Liaison will serve as the primary point of contact and collaboration between the Oregon Department of Education’s (ODE) Office of Education Innovation and Improvement, the ESD, and the districts within the ESD’s service region. The Student Success Integration Liaison will coordinate the work of ESD staff and contract consultants who are providing support and training to school districts to implement plans and programs for the Student Success Act (SSA) and Student Investment Account (SIA).

 

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor’s degree in a field of education. Masters Preferred.
2. Valid Oregon TSPC license is preferred.
3. Experience (5 years minimum) working in a K-12 education system with experience in a teacher leadership role. Administration experience preferred, especially at the district level.
4. Experience in delivering professional development, facilitating team discussions, and providing training opportunities to individuals and large groups.
5. Experience developing consulting or support teams to effectively work with districts to advance family and community engagement, equity and culturally sustaining education, and/or continuous improvement efforts.
6. Applicants must have successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities, and/or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to equity and strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population.
7. Highly competent in facilitation and presentation skills with experience in a variety of educational and community settings.
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
9. Such alternatives to certain above qualifications may apply as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent and/or Board of Directors.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

This position has the following expectations and prerequisite abilities.

4. Exceptional prioritization of tasks, timely completion of work assignments, ability to take the initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
5. Demonstrates respectful, flexible and effective team building skills of cooperation, communication and active participation.
6. Present self and LBL in a professional manner including: in oral and written communication, professional disposition when working with others and maintaining professional dress standards.
7. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directives, find requested data and present in user-friendly formats for internal and public distribution.
8. Maintain regular attendance at work. Be punctual in meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and following schedules.
9. Utilize the teleservice platform to provide services to educators, students and district staff as directed.
10. Ability to lift, carry at least 25 pounds.
11. Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a vehicle or work setting.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This is not necessarily an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, and duties associated with this position. The supervisor of this position may modify this list at any time it’s deemed necessary.

1. Liaise with ODE to deliver technical assistance to districts. This will require regular meetings and phone consultation with ODE staff to obtain resources and promising practice knowledge.
2. Consult with district stakeholders to identify priorities, develop action plans, and support services needed for Integrated Guidance.
3. Assist districts in the development of an application for the Integrated Guidance process that includes documenting their needs, growth targets, attainable outcomes, investment strategies and accountability metrics as outlined in the SSA/SIA.
4. Design and lead ongoing professional learning opportunities to support the development of community engagement and other aspects of the Integrated Guidance process.
5. Support school districts with incorporating engagement feedback into the needs assessment and planning processes, including developing connections between the engagement, needs assessment, the Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) process, and the application for Integrated Guidance funds.
6. Create networking opportunities for district leadership to have regular collaboration opportunities with other districts and schools with similar demographics and structures to support the ongoing implementation of Integrated Guidance plans.
7. Coach district leaders and school-level leaders through professional learning opportunities.
8. Disseminate the latest research and trends related to evidence-based or field-tested practices and programs for district and school level leaders, including easy-to-implement strategies to share with classroom teachers and staff.
9. Create cooperative and harmonious relationships with districts, co-workers and supervisors.

Salary and benefit information shown are based on full-time employment (1.0 FTE) based on the current school year
Placement on the Linn Benton Lincoln ESD Administrative salary schedule will be commensurate with applicant’s qualifications, relevant training, and experience
