CLASSIFICATION TITLE OF THE JOB: AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE WORKER – FLEET MAINTENANCE DIVISION
CLASSIFICATION CATEGORY: Temporary Full-Time Position - Non-Union
CLASSIFICATION # 262

A Two (2) month Temporary, Full-time position working in the Linn County Road Department. This
position may be extended as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

• Service automobiles, trucks, tractors and other equipment.

• Keep records of service to vehicles and equipment.

• Change and rotate tires.

• Operate computers and software generally and related to finding parts, tools, and equipment;

schematics, maintenance and repair procedures; documentation; and related functions.

• Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.

• Assist mechanics occasionally as assigned.

• Other Duties as Assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduation from high school or GED certificate, plus one year experience in servicing and

maintaining automotive and construction equipment, or any satisfactory equivalent.

• Will lift up to ninety (90) pounds, work in all types of weather.

• Possession of a Commercial Driver License Class A, manual transmission, fifth wheel, with air

brake and tanker endorsement and an acceptable driving record is preferred.

COMPENSATION: $26.00 per hour
