Job Summary
The purpose of this role is to oversee all aspects of warehouse operations including the supervision of warehouse associates. Assist the Director of Safety with any safety-related functions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Train, provide work direction, motivate, evaluate performance and oversee activities of warehouse associates
- Assure safe and efficient warehouse operations including cleanliness
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and Company safety policies as directed
- Maintain inventory by conducting monthly physical counts and reconcile any variances
- Collect mileage and hour meter readings from all vehicles and equipment
- Administer safety training as required by OSHA
- Administer formal training on the use of forklifts and pallet jacks as required by OSHA
- Responsible for setting up new products and maintaining pick location
- Count and verify incoming product from daily routes as needed
- Prepare and communicate out-of-date product
- Perform end-of-day procedures including preparing handhelds for next day deliveries
- Conduct interviews for open positions
- Secure facility at end of day
- Responsible for picking, operating forklift, and moving trucks as needed
- Perform other duties as necessary
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of warehouse operations
- Ability to obtain a valid forklift and pallet jack certification
- Basic knowledge of computers
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Skills in critical thinking, problem solving and judgement and decision making
- Skills in organizing and prioritizing work and tasks
- Ability to provide attention to detail
- Ability to work with others
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to communicate objectives with associates
Work Environment and Equipment
Work generally takes place between an office and a warehouse setting. Exposure to hot indoor
temperatures during summer months. Potential for long and irregular hours during peak seasons.
