About the Role
We’re hiring a QA Engineer to build out the test automation infrastructure at Linq from the ground up. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our products are rock-solid — across web, mobile, and API surfaces. This is a highly cross-functional role where you’ll partner closely with engineering and product to create a culture of quality, speed, and confidence in every release.
You’ll be our first dedicated QA Engineer, so you’ll have lots of ownership and room to shape both the tooling and the process. Expect a healthy mix of writing tests, investigating bugs, automating flows, and helping us release faster and safer.
This is an in-office role in Birmingham, AL.

What We’re Looking For
- Experience building test automation from scratch
- Familiarity with tools like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, or similar
- Comfort testing across web, mobile, and API layers
- Experience with API testing tools and techniques (e.g. Postman, REST Assured, etc.)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integrating tests into automated workflows
- Clear communicator — especially when reporting bugs or collaborating cross-functionally
- Comfortable balancing automation and hands-on exploratory testing
Nice to Haves
- Experience working in distributed systems or testing them effectively
- Comfort writing or contributing to technical documentation
- Familiarity with testing performance, load, or edge cases
- Previous experience as the first or early QA hire at a startup
