About the Role
Linq is seeking motivated and curious individuals interested in exploring careers in Software Engineering, DevOps, IT, Data, and Cybersecurity. This internship offers hands-on experience in a dynamic, collaborative tech environment, ideal for students or recent graduates looking to launch their careers. Internships typically last about 6 months, followed by an evaluation for potential full-time opportunities. Shorter internships (such as summer or semester-based) can also be accommodated based on availability.
Responsibilities
Depending on your interests and skills, responsibilities may include:
- Supporting software development tasks using languages such as Ruby (Ruby on Rails), JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Next.js), GO, and Python.
- Assisting with DevOps tasks, including deployments, containerization (Docker), and cloud infrastructure management (AWS, Azure, Heroku).
- Participating in data engineering tasks, such as building data pipelines, ETL processes, data visualization, or analytics using tools like Python, SQL, dbt, Grafana, or Looker.
- Helping manage internal IT operations, user access, hardware inventory, and troubleshooting tasks.
- Contributing to testing, documentation, and technical research initiatives.
- Collaborating closely with experienced engineers and tech leadership.
What We're Looking For
- Interest in technology areas such as software development, DevOps, IT operations, data engineering/analytics, or cybersecurity.
- Basic proficiency or academic experience in at least one programming, scripting, or query language (JavaScript, Python, Ruby, SQL, Bash, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Nice to Haves
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or certification in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Git/GitHub, Docker, AWS/Azure/GCP, SQL databases (Postgres, Snowflake, Redshift), data visualization platforms (Grafana, Looker), or similar platforms.
- Previous internship or practical project experience in technology or data.
