TAX ACCOUNTANT OPPORTUNITY
Do you have an interest in working for a prestigious law firm? We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our team and assist with our well-respected tax practice. We have a family-oriented work culture and are proud of the length of tenure many employees hold. As a Tax Accountant, you will work on a small team and support three different attorneys. You will be responsible for preparing and/or reviewing federal and state tax returns while ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of federal tax experience including knowledge of Internal Revenue Tax Codes, general ledger accounting experience, and be able to work flexible hours during peak seasons.
Job responsibilities:
Tax return preparation of individual, state, partnerships, corporate, fiduciary, gift, and exempt organizations.
Review of federal and state tax returns.
Preparation of payroll and franchise tax.
Research of various tax issues in conjunction with tax preparation.
Documentation of client information and preparation of tax work papers.
Research and respond to Internal Revenue Service Notices.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years of current work experience in federal taxation.
QuickBooks online and desktop knowledge is preferred.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and Financial Statements.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with clients.
Capability to work extra hours during peak seasons is a must.
Ability to successfully take initiative, be proactive, meet deadlines, prioritize. and be well organized.
Prior experience with CCH ProSystem fx Tax is preferred but not required.
Payroll and Franchise Tax experience is a plus.
