Pay Range: 110K-145K
Position Summary
The People Services Director (PSD) is a strategic partner to the Facility CEO and other leadership team members, responsible for defining, developing, and implementing people services initiatives. The PSD provides leadership and strategic direction for all areas of People Services, including:
Employee relations
Talent acquisition and assessment
Compensation management
Performance management
Training and leadership development
Policy and procedures
Management of the People Services team
The PSD plays a crucial role in aligning HR strategies with the hospital’s operational goals, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, and fostering a positive work culture.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent – Required
Bachelor’s degree – Required
Master’s degree – Preferred
Certifications:
PHR/SPHR certification – Preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR/People Services experience , with expertise in:
Employee Relations
Talent Acquisition & Management
Training & Development
Compensation Management
Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
Supervisory experience overseeing various HR/PS support roles – Preferred
Recent Union experience – Required
Experience overseeing employee relations for a large multi-site organization – Highly desirable
Skills:
Strong analytical skills for complex decision-making
Advanced interpersonal and leadership abilities
Understanding of federal/state employment laws, CMS, OSHA, and Joint Commission compliance
Ability to manage budgets, compensation structures, and workforce planning
Essential Job Functions
Develop, implement, and evaluate organization-wide People Services functions, including recruitment, compensation/benefits, and employee relations.
Direct HR operations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, etc.).
Lead and develop People Services staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensure responsible management of departmental resources, optimizing efficiency and effectiveness.
Design and oversee training and leadership development programs.
Collaborate with senior leadership on workforce planning, talent strategy, and succession planning.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Business Mathematics: Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and analyze financial data.
Advanced Computer Skills: Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and data analytics tools.
Complex Communication: Strong ability to convey complex information and influence decision-making at all levels.
Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze varied and complex business challenges.
Decision-Making: Independent judgment in setting priorities and recommending HR policies and programs.
Project Management: Ability to handle multiple projects, delegate tasks, and oversee project completion.
