- Assisting students, parents, and other staff members as appropriate.
- Place and respond to telephone calls, process mail, and prepare correspondence.
- Records daily attendance of staff and assists in securing substitute teachers.
- Assists in budgeting for and ordering supplies for the building.
- Perform bookkeeping tasks.
- Organized registration activities.
- Assists in the preparation and production of newsletters.
- Acts as back-up to other offices as needed.
- Coordinates the ordering of materials and enters building purchase orders into the district system.
- Works with the principal to organize annual student activities, including honors programs and graduation.
- Assists in the resolution of transportation issues.
- Assumes other responsibilities within the scope of the job as determined by the building administrator or any duties assigned in extraordinary situations.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Typing and computer skills related to functions of the position, including working knowledge of word processing programs.
- Good grammatical and language background for both written and oral purposes, supporting communication skills.
- Strong personal skills which foster good working relationships with other staff members and the public.
- Working knowledge of basic office procedures and equipment.
- Aptitude and physical abilities to perform assigned tasks.
