Description:
PacAero Agawam is seeking a highly skilled CMM Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), with a strong background in quality control and precision measurements in a manufacturing environment. The CMM Inspector will play a critical role in ensuring that all parts and components meet the highest quality standards through accurate measurements and inspections.
Requirements:- CMM Inspection & Measurement: Operate CMM equipment (manual or automated) to inspect parts, assemblies, and components according to engineering specifications, blueprints, and GD&T.
- Documentation & Reporting: Record inspection results accurately and generate detailed inspection reports, including any non-conformances or deviations. Ensure that all documents are maintained for traceability and regulatory compliance.
- First Article & In-Process Inspections: Perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards at each stage of production.
- Calibration & Maintenance: Perform routine calibration and maintenance on CMM equipment to ensure optimal accuracy and functionality.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality issues, identify root causes of defects, and collaborate with the production team to implement corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the inspection process, suggest modifications to increase efficiency and accuracy, and support lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality Control teams to support production goals and resolve any quality-related issues.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards and protocols while performing inspections, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in CMM inspection and familiarity with CMM programming software.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T principles.
- Proficient with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) and measuring tools like calipers and micrometers.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to document inspection data accurately for compliance.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Associate's degree or relevant certification in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Quality Control (preferred).
- CQI or similar certification (preferred).
- 2 years of experience in CMM inspection or quality control.
