Job Description: Mental & Behavioral Health Residential Tech
Serve as a therapeutic direct care worker, will participate in the supervision and residential care within the facility for females .
Trainings:
Crisis Prevention and Intervention, Behavior Management TACT , CPR/First Aid
Complete 40 hrs. of annual training (TBA)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide intense supervision and documentation of the daily activities and schedules of high level emotionally bound teenagers
- Perform daily inspection to ensure the facility is inspection ready at all times.
- Ensure the home is a safe environment for all residents at all times.
- Accurately administer, monitor and record medication (prescribed/PRN).
- Transport each resident to scheduled recreational activities, school,
- Prepare approved meals for the residents and document any deviation from the menu.
- Facilitate group activities including daily basic living skills and document progress and/or lack of as needed.
- Ensure that appropriate boundaries are kept and maintained at all times between residents
- Complete scheduled monthly fire drills: 1) during sleeping hours and 2) during hours of operation and turn in required documentation.
- Complete and turn in all required state and placing agency compliance paperwork and reporting.
- Maintain required licenses, trainings and certifications (GA Driver’s License, current CPI, CPR/First Aid, and 40 hours of annual training).
- Familiarize yourself with the rules and regulations of OPM & RCCL
- Comply and remain abreast of the company’s policies and procedures manual and program guidelines
- Complete all job duties/requirements before the end of each shift.
- All other job duties and responsibilities that will benefit the wellbeing of the residents and the program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of child development and mental disorders.
- Knowledge of children’s residential care policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and interact with the residents, families, and stakeholders.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to do moderate lifting and bending.
- Experience driving a seven-passenger van.
- Experience preparing and serving meals.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a genuine desire to work with children.
- Minimum of five years of direct care service experience with children and families.
- Must be dependable, personable, energetic, creative, and enthusiastic.
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Pass health, drug, driving (free from major violations), and background screenings.
- Possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
