Required Qualifications/Skills
-Strong computer and typing skills
-Good spelling and grammar
-Patience: people with hearing loss require slow, clear speech and sometimes need things repeated so they understand
-Ability to notice small differences in details
-Professional Appearance: We wear business casual attire and are expected to be friendly and polite and look approachable
Duties include: greeting patients, taking their information, and scheduling appointments. Other duties include answering multiple phone lines, scanning documents to a server, managing referrals, tracking, checking- in and preparing orders, sending reminders, maintaining computers, and sometimes just 'schmoozing' with patients or their family members, and making them feel cared for. You will be taught how to assemble, clean, check and troubleshoot hearing aids, so you must not be afraid to touch people's hearing aids; in other words we touch earwax (gloves are available)!
It is preferred that you have experience in a medical-type office answering phones, providing great customer service, scheduling appointments and have some medical billing knowledge.
We work in a fun, steady-paced environment with some of the nicest patients. Our doctor performs hearing evaluations on children and adults, we offer hearing aids and custom hearing protection, and help with earwax management. The Doctor also travels to local assisted living and long-term care facilities and an outreach location in Long Prairie. We accept all major health insurance programs.
Our business hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm, and we need someone to work all day on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursday mornings.
Position will be hourly, starting at $15-$18/hour depending on skills and experience, and after a 90 day review you may receive promotion.
Please email resume and cover letter.
