Description
Evaluate and develop appropriate treatment plans for referred students. Also provide direct, integrated and/or consultative occupational therapy services for students. Collaborate with Teaching staff in regards to integrating occupational therapy plans into the daily program. Track progress on goals, provide written reports for Annual Reviews and participate in weekly team meetings. Provide in-service training to school staff regarding OT services including but not limited to Sensory Processing, Sensory Diets, Breaks and various other accommodations. Ability to respond to student behavior problems in collaboration with other staff, with my require significant strength, agility and sensory acuity. Be alert to student behavioral emergencies, and to effectively implement the procedures of confrontation, avoidance and escape evasion.
Requirements
An AAS Degree with COTA registration and Illinois State License. School experience as well as experience with sensory integration preferred.
