In 2023 alone, the organization will serve over 3,000 children through 70 community partners. At just over four years old, Little Hands Virginia is still growing and evolving, and the operations manager will be a part of a small team doing big things..

Little Hands Virginia (LHVA) is hiring! We continue to grow and are adding to our team as we work to ensure that every child in our community has the essentials they need from birth to improve outcomes for life!

Little Hands Virginia has an immediate need for a full-time Operations Manager. Reporting to our Richmond Program Director, the Operations Manager will lead our inventory purchasing and analysis, and execute our two main programs: the diaper bank program and individual request program. This position will work five days a week with four being onsite (Monday-Thursday).

Each month, LHVA distributes over 30,000 diapers to partners, and serves over 250 children by providing them with critically needed items. This role will work closely with our director of operations to track inventory and orders, purchase needed items and keep track of budgeting, maintain our supplies, interface with office volunteers, manage the front office, and help collect data. The Operations Manager will help lead our existing programs and provide input and ideas as we develop new programs as the organization grows.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain inventory tracking and projections, working closely with the Richmond Program Director to understand what is needed and why
  • Lead the purchasing of inventory for our diaper bank and individual request programs
  • Assist with development of partnerships that lead to cost savings and better inventory management
  • Maintain and operate in-kind donation system and ensure donation room is clean and tidy
  • Serve as main point of contact for office volunteers and assign daily tasks to advance our programs
  • Assist with pick up and delivery of orders, including scheduling, greeting and serving as a backup point of contact for delivery volunteers and partners with Richmond Program Director is unavailable
  • Help analyze data and other outcomes to understand areas of growth and trends within our programs and organizational development
  • Assist with annual budget planning of both programs
  • Manage front office by greeting volunteers, delivery drivers, and others visiting the office
  • Provide assistance on other projects as needed by Executive Director and Richmond Program Manager to add capacity to the overall function of the organization

Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

Experience:
Minimum of two years in the nonprofit, operations, supply chain, accounting, inventory management, or other related field.

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience using databases and Microsoft Office and Google platforms (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Detail oriented and very organized
  • Self-motivated and willing to be a team player
  • Strong understanding of customer service and experience working with the public
  • Interest in serving young children, particularly health, development and social disparities

Physical Demands:
This role will split between computer work at a desk and moving around the office interfacing with volunteers and stocking shelves. Ability to lift moderately heavy objects is necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
