Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team at Little Martians Learning Center (LMLC) as a Support Staff member. Reporting to the Director, this role involves providing essential classroom and staff support to ensure smooth operations throughout the day. The ideal candidate will be responsible for covering classrooms to maintain proper ratios, assisting staff during breaks, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of common areas and classroom supplies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing coverage for teachers and staff to maintain classroom ratios and break times
- Ensuring cleanliness by removing garbage from common areas (lobby, bathroom, breakroom) and sanitizing surfaces
- Managing student attendance records and assisting with diaper changes or toilet assistance
- Organizing and maintaining inventory of classroom and art supplies
- Cleaning up after meals, including tables, chairs, and floors
- Maintaining friendly and professional relationships with staff, children, and parents
- Attending staff meetings and assisting teachers during transitions
- Serving as a substitute teacher when necessary
- Traveling to other LMLC sites as assigned and maintaining a record of mileage

Requirements:
· Must be 18 years of age or older
· Must have high school diploma or its equivalent
· CPR/First Aid Certified
· Strong communication skills; both verbal and written
· Ongoing professional development in the field of childcare (PDR hours minimum 25)
· Ability to support teachers
· Demonstrate organizational skills
Responsibilities:
· Assist and support teaching staff
· Meet all applicable licensing requirements
· Assure that accidents/incidents are reported and are followed up with appropriate forms
· Daily assignments include
1. Report to Director
2. Coverage for teachers to keep ratio in a classroom
3. Coverage for staff during breaks
4. Remove garbage from common areas (lobby, bathroom, breakroom)
5. Keep a record of students’ attendance
6. Laundry (Sheets, blankets, towels, mopheads)
· Organize inventory supplies (Art and supply cabinets)
· In classroom
1. Clean-up after meals (tables, chairs, floor)
2. Clean with soap water and sanitize
3. Diaper changes/toilet assistance
· Clean common areas such as lobby, bathroom, kitchen, breakroom, and outdoor play areas
· Assure each classroom has blankets and sheets at the beginning of shift
· Maintain a friendly and professional rapport with the staff members and parents
· Maintain Little Martian’s policies and procedures
· Keep Director informed of staff, children, and parents’ concerns
· Attend Staff meetings
· Assist teachers during transitions
· Serve as substitute teachers when Lead/Assistant teacher is not present
· Travel/report to other LMLC sites, when assigned by your Site Director.
· Follow receiving site director’s directives.
· Keep written record of your travel milage when you travel to other sites.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.50 - $14.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
