What are the responsibilities and job description for the Store Manager position at Little Professor?
As the store manager you are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day flow and functions of the bookstore. You will be a people manager and have direct involvement with hiring, training, and directing our team to create customer experiences that enhance bookstore loyalty and deliver measurable results for the store. As the store manager, you are accountable for the store’s operations, merchandising, talent acquisition, and customer service.
The store manager works with store ownership to be a strong community partner and reach sales and profitability goals. This is preferably a full-time position, but could be limited to 25-30 hours a week if you're the right fit.
Requirements
- You will build and maintain positive relationships with the Little Professor community to create a world-class bookstore experience
- You will ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and sales through effective scheduling, talent acquisition, training, and development of store team members
- As Store Manager you must maintain outstanding visual merchandising standards, ensure availability of merchandise, and maintain appropriate inventories
- You will identify creative solutions, learn independently, embrace change, and exemplify strong leadership
- You will analyze sales figures, interpret trends, and forecast future sales to manage all controllable costs and keep operations profitable
- You will ensure standards for quality, customer service, and health and safety are met by providing a safe and clean store environment and implementing loss prevention measures
Qualifications:
- You have strong customer service and communication skills
- You have previous management, retail, and/or bookstore experience
- You are a book lover with the ability to speak about literature and popular titles
- You are a compassionate and respectful manager with excellent conflict resolution skills
- You enjoy working within a team but are self-motivated and able to work independently
- You are assertive and organized
