What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead PreK Teacher position at Little Sprout Preschool?
Little Sprout Preschool is an academic program serving children ages 3 years (toilet trained) to 6 years old. We are a teacher led program offering a healthy balance of curriculum and play based opportunities to create an environment that is developmentally appropriate. With small class sizes of no more than 15 students with a Lead Teacher AND a Teacher Assistant, we are able to provide specific support to each typical developing child. Our program is designed to properly prepare our students for kindergarten with well-rounded ability. We are not a daycare but rather an academic preschool.

Duties
- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum already designed but has the flexibility for teacher input.
- Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
- Implement created age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, Brightwheel interactions, and parent-teacher conferences as needed.
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
- Supervise teacher assistants to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Participate in monthly teacher meetings and staff bonding events.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card, current
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.

- Contracted from August - May with summer hours for June and July available as needed or take the summer off. Will offer a mid-year contract for a later start date.
