What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Manager, Talent Business Partner position at Littler?
The Sr. Manager, Talent Business Partner will partner with assigned business unit(s), office (s) and/or region(s) to ensure an understanding of business strategy and help to implement high-quality Talent practices.
This is a hybrid position resident in Austin, TX or Kansas City, MO.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with the overall Talent team and Firm to evaluate and support the needs of the business and create tools and resources to increase leadership, team and individual effectiveness.
- Develops and delivers communication and change management plans in support of both Talent and firm programs.
- Be a trusted resource and consultant to business area(s) leadership, providing guidance when appropriate.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the Talent group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
- Builds and develops talent growth, strategy and succession plans that are tailored to meet business unit needs.
- Support and partner to execute on the performance management practices
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues across all business unit(s), office (s) and/or region(s)
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and company policies related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the general counsel as needed/required.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Partners across talent team to develop best practices for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
- Helps to build out internal processes and definition of roles for the talent partners working with the talent team and business.
- Occasional travel.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills including written, interpersonal, and listening skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Strong project management skills across projects of varying size and scope
- Skilled in managing employee relations matters.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; ability to communicate professionally at all levels within the firm.
Education And Experience
Required: Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
Preferred: Advanced Human Resources degree and Certified Human Resources credentials.
Experience
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Organization Development, Industrial Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration or an equivalent field is required.
- Minimum of 9 years of Human Resource experience in a professional services and/or legal environment preferred.
