ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Responsible for assisting students identified for the ELD program with their daily instructions in English language development and/or with content subject area. Works under the immediate supervision of the ELD teachers to support the daily lessons for multilingual students in the classroom via small group or one-on-one instruction.

• Implements teacher-directed lessons for ML (multilingual students) in their English language development instruction in the general education classrooms
• Coordinates and implements instructional strategies with supervising ELD teachers to ensure student improvement with ELD and core academic content
• Assists ELD teachers in maintaining and updating the necessary program documentation for the ELD Program
• Assists ELD teachers with home-school communication
• Assists ELD staff with copying and preparing material for classroom instruction
• Assists ELD staff as a proctor for state and district assessments

Bilingual English/Spanish prefered.
Daily contact with students, instructional staff, classified staff, building administrators, and parents.

Grade 5, starting salary $20.17 (Classified Salary Schedule)

WORK YEAR: 180 contract days (Classified calendar)
