Are you an experienced Human Resources professional looking to make a powerful impact in a fast-growing, mission-driven organization? Live Love Life, Inc., a 340B nonprofit dedicated to transforming lives through HIV, Hepatitis C, and STD prevention, testing, and treatment, is searching for a dynamic HR Generalist to build and lead our Human Resources function from the ground up.

This pivotal role requires an exceptional leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at balancing compliance with employee relations, and has a passion for fostering a professional, engaged, and high-performing workforce. What You’ll Do

As the HR Generalist, you’ll be responsible for establishing and managing most HR operations, ensuring compliance, and driving organizational growth through strategic HR initiatives. You will be instrumental in building a structured and legally sound HR department that supports our expanding workforce and positions Live Love Life, Inc. for long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

HR Compliance & Employment Law

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and 340B program-specific regulations.
  • Develop, update, and enforce policies and procedures to align with legal requirements and organizational objectives.
  • Establish a strong framework to protect the organization from HR-related lawsuits and risks.

Employee Relations & Workplace Culture

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace environment that aligns with the mission of Live Love Life, Inc.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for leadership and staff, handling complex employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion.
  • Develop and implement a robust system for addressing grievances, resolving conflicts, and promoting ethical workplace behavior.
  • Lead efforts to prevent and address workplace harassment, discrimination, and misconduct with clear policies and training programs.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Execute a strategic hiring plan to support rapid organizational growth while maintaining high hiring standards.
  • Write compelling job descriptions and leverage best-in-class recruitment strategies to attract top-tier talent.
  • Collaborate within the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, applicant tracking, interviews, hiring decisions, and onboarding.
  • Develop initiatives to further optimize employee development, retention, engagement, and satisfaction.

Performance Management & Employee Accountability

  • Maximize and optimize the modern performance management system, setting clear expectations, conducting evaluations, and driving professional development.
  • Implement corrective action protocols that reinforce accountability and encourage continuous improvement.
  • Train supervisors and managers on effective leadership, conflict resolution, and team management strategies.
  • Address attendance and punctuality challenges through structured policies and coaching initiatives.

HR Policies, Procedures & Handbook Development

  • Optimize a comprehensive and legally sound Employee Handbook that reflects the current iteration of the workplace and workforce.
  • Revise and enforce a Time and Attendance Policy to ensure operational efficiency and accountability.
  • Draft, revise, and implement job descriptions for all positions, ensuring clarity in roles, responsibilities, and expectations.

Training & Workforce Development

  • Design and lead training programs tailored to a medical office and 340B nonprofit organization.
  • Train employees on professionalism, workplace ethics, and working with patients engaged in high-risk behaviors.
  • Develop a structured onboarding program to equip new hires with essential knowledge and skills.
  • Implement leadership development programs to groom high-potential employees for future roles.

Compensation, Benefits & HR Systems

  • Optimize payroll and benefits programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor laws.
  • Evaluate and recommend competitive benefits packages to attract and retain top talent.
  • Optimize HR technology and systems (HRIS, ATS, payroll software) to improve efficiency and data management.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a solutions-driven HR professional who understands the complexities of a high-growth nonprofit healthcare organization. You have the ability to balance legal compliance, organizational needs, and employee relations with exceptional efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2 years of HR experience, preferably in nonprofit, healthcare, or social services settings.
  • Strong knowledge of Florida employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HR systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now) and ATS platforms.
  • Exceptional documentation skills, ensuring thorough and legally sound HR records.
  • Experience in handling sensitive employee matters, including workplace investigations.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications (Not Required)

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR

Pay: $85,749.00 - $93,887.00 per year
