Key Responsibilities:
A "Risk Manager" in a nursing home is a healthcare professional responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks to residents, staff, and the facility itself. By developing and implementing policies and procedures, they work to prevent accidents, injuries, and legal issues, ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone within the nursing home environment.
Key responsibilities of a nursing home Risk Manager include:
- Identifying potential risks: Regularly reviewing resident records, monitoring facility operations, and analyzing incident reports to identify potential hazards such as falls, medication errors, infections, or abuse.
- Risk assessment: Evaluating the likelihood and severity of identified risks to prioritize those requiring immediate attention.
- Developing mitigation strategies: Creating policies and procedures to address identified risks, including staff training programs, safety protocols, and environmental modifications.
- Incident investigation: Thoroughly investigating adverse events, including resident injuries, complaints, or near misses, to understand root causes and prevent future occurrences.
- Data analysis: Tracking and analyzing incident data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Staff education: Providing regular training to all staff members on risk management practices, reporting procedures, and safety protocols.

Requirements:
