Qualifications
Overview:
LNC is excited to offer a unique summer internship opportunity focused on safety and compliance management. The internship will provide hands-on experience in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and implementing safety measures within the company’s operational framework.
Internship Details:
- Length: Approximately 10 weeks
- Home base location: A specific location will be identified at the beginning of the internship, with work conducted in various locations within a designated region.
- Safety Training: Interns will undergo safety training during the first week, with ongoing training throughout the internship to ensure a strong safety mindset.
- Work closely with location managers and stakeholders to identify additional training on the EHS system.
- Assist in onboarding for the new Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Management System. Program Setup and transfer of data.
- Teach location team members about the work order process, including submitting requests, completing orders, and setting schedules.
- Help develop and implement new hire training programs.
- Maintain communication with the Safety and Compliance Manager regarding needs or concerns.
- At the end of the internship, interns will present their findings and experiences to management at the corporate office in Overland Park, KS.
- Travel to various locations as needed to complete assigned tasks.
- Work effectively in a team environment while also being able to work independently when necessary.
- Senior standing with Junior year classwork completed by May of 2025.
- Majors in Safety, Agricultural Technology, Engineering, Safety Construction, and Project Management are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to engage with team members at various locations.
- Must have a clean Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) driving record.
- Capability to understand and support the safe manufacturing of livestock feed.
- Resources Provided:
- LNC will provide company laptops and hotel accommodations during the internship.
