Job Summary :
The Electronics Repair Technician will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of professional audio, video, and lighting equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of electronic principles, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additionally, this position will manage the resale of used inventory through online platforms, contributing to revenue generation and efficient inventory management. This individual will also serve as a primary lead in managing Livewire's off-site repair facility and scenery storage location, will occasionally manage a team of 3-4 event specialists to assist with repairs, and will be responsible for the proper and safe storage of Livewire's legacy equipment.
Responsibilities :
Equipment Repair & Maintenance :
- Diagnose and repair complex electronic equipment, including theatrical lighting fixtures (moving lights, conventionals, LED), video processing equipment (cameras, projectors, LED walls), and audio equipment (speakers, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, processing).
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing to ensure equipment reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and time spent.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and repair techniques.
Inventory Management & Resale :
Evaluate and assess used equipment for resale potential.Prepare equipment for sale, including cleaning, testing, and photographing.List and manage used inventory on online platforms such as eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and Gearsource.Respond to customer inquiries and process online sales.Package and ship sold items securely and efficiently.Maintain accurate records of inventory sold and pricing.Off-Site Facility Management :
Serve as the primary lead for Livewire's off-site repair facility and scenery storage location.Maintain organization and inventory control at the off-site location.Ensure the facility is secure and properly maintained.Legacy Equipment Management :
Responsible for the proper and safe storage of Livewire's legacy equipment, retained for reasons such as being the last known operable piece in the region, company history, or possible future business use.Ensure proper environmental conditions and organization of legacy equipment.Team Leadership :
Occasionally manage a team of 3-4 event specialists to assist with repairs.Provide guidance and training to team members.Delegate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.General Duties :
Maintain a clean and organized work area.Assist with other technical tasks as needed.Adhere to safety protocols and procedures.Work with the team to improve repair efficiency.Qualifications :
Proven experience in electronics repair, preferably in the audio, video, and lighting industry.Strong understanding of electronic circuits, components, and troubleshooting techniques.Proficiency in using electronic test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation.Excellent soldering and component-level repair skills.Familiarity with online sales platforms and e-commerce processes.Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.Experience in leading small teams.Valid driver's license.Preferred Qualifications :
Formal education or certifications in electronics repair.Experience with specific brands and models of theatrical lighting, video, and audio equipment.Knowledge of DMX, computer networking, board-level repair and rebuild, and other relevant technology concepts.Pay / Benefits :
