Materials Manager

Department: Materials/Purchasing

Reports To: General Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

This position manages material procurement and movement within the plant to service the customer and production including purchasing, packaging, and inventory control.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Supervise production control functions of purchasing, scheduling, inventory control, material handling, and planning.
• Maintain inventory levels in order to operate the plant and maintain customer on-time deliveries.
• Purchase materials at best quality with low costs.
• GMP Documentation within the materials group.
• Source and quote vendors.
• Be a liaison between the Supplier and Quality and between Accounting and Materials.
• Layout and control inventory within the facility.
• Conduct employee training.
• Work with Sales & Marketing Team on customer packaging.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant study or Associates degree with relevant work experience required.
• Experience working with Warehouse Management systems preferred.
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
• Knowledgeable and proficient on a computer, including Microsoft Office.
• Possess the ability to creatively solve problems and maintain records.
• Excellent organizational skills, accurate record keeping and detail orientation is necessary.
• Ability to comply with all safety and department regulations.
• Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $88,519.00 - $93,747.00 per year
