The Role
Livingroom Studios is seeking a proactive, systems-minded, highly organized, detail-oriented Studio Manager to oversee daily operations of our world-class premium boutique recording studio. The candidate will help define, implement, and optimize the studio's backend systems, workflows, and team operations, before maintaining and evolving them long-term.
You'll work closely with studio leadership and creative teams to build internal structures that support a seamless client experience, empower the staff, and enhance operational efficiency. A deep understanding of music industry dynamics, high-level client relations and hospitality is essential.
1. Studio Infrastructure and Operational System Design
● Design, implement and oversee core backend operational systems, workflow frameworks and studio protocols.
● Develop sustainable infrastructure to support session planning, team collaboration, and cross-department coordination.
● Collaborate with leadership to define long-term operational strategy.
● Work with creative team to support implementation of artist curation strategy.
2. Studio Operations and Workflow Management
● Oversee daily studio functions ensuring seamless execution once systems are in place.
● Act as the central point of contact for clients, team members, and contractors.
● Align operational output with the Studio Director, Artist Relations and Head Engineer, to support creative goals.
3. Financial Oversight
● Work closely with Studio Business Admin Manager across studio budgets, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing.
● Ensure timely invoicing, payments, and contractor coordination.
● Maintain accurate financial records and provide reports for management.
4. Scheduling and Coordination
● Manage and Advance studio bookings, client session schedules, and staff assignments.
● Coordinate with engineers, producers, and other staff to ensure optimal utilization of studio time and resources.
● Monitor and maintain an up-to-date calendar, nimble with adjustments, proactively handle any scheduling conflicts as they arise.
5. Inventory Management
● Create and maintain an accurate inventory system for gear and instruments.
● Work with engineering to ensure equipment upkeep and servicing.
● Due diligence on most optimal studio tracking platforms for logging usage, repairs, and gear acquisition plans.
6. Team Management
● Work closely with the creative team to schedule sessions and address client needs.
● Establish onboarding and coordination systems for staff, freelancers, and external collaborators.
● Facilitate clear communication between departments to ensure aligned, efficient operations.
7. Client Liaisons
● Work closely with Artist Relations to facilitate a high level of service advancing sessions
● Provide high-touch client services and hospitality to artists, labels, and creative collaborators, by working closely with relevant LR departments (engineering, tech, hospitality)
● Proven experience in artist management, studio/tour operations, project management, or similar roles in music and entertainment.
● Track record of building systems and operational frameworks — not just managing existing ones.
● Comfortable working in (and occasionally creating) tools like Sonido, StudioSuite, Airtable, POS systems like Stripe, Square, and Toast, or similar scheduling/accounting/inventory platforms.
● Financial fluency — budgeting, invoicing, forecasting, and working with finance departments.
● Experience in team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
● Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
● Knowledge of recording workflows, session logistics, and studio equipment.
● Willingness to work non-traditional hours when necessary for high-profile projects and events.
