General Job Description:
Performs clerical duties involved in filing cases and in processing requests for court documents, providing a variety of forms and reports as mandated by law. May have some courtroom clerking responsibilities.
Essential Job Functions:
Communicate with customers, employees and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, assist with paperwork required, and address complaints.
Communicate with attorneys regarding cases that are filmed and ready for disposal.
Compile, copy, sort and file records of office and business transactions.
Maintain and update filing, forms, mailing and database systems, either manually or using a computer.
Compute, record and proofread data and other information, such as records or reports.
Type, format, proofread, and edit correspondence and other documents, using computer.
Prepare documents recording the outcomes of court proceedings including certified documents if minor committed to Youth Commission.
Prepare appeals and files them electronically in the Appellate Court.
Put hearing dates and docket entries in computer.
Prepare summonses and court related documents as required.
Process new cases and sub sequential filings through electronic filing.
Assist the public at the public access computers with electronic filings.
Helps process Orders of Protections.
Education Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Additional Education in Legal field desired.
Must have knowledge of principles and processes for proving excellent customer service.
